about

One Love, One Heart, One Soul is a Tribute album to the busker Taihg Daniel Peter Lloyd; who died in January 2012.

It is a compilation album of 20 different artists from his town (Canterbury, Kent) and surrounding area; who got togethor to make this album in his memory, and to raise money for his now fatherless daughter, Kaia Bluebell Lloyd.

As well as the main donation to Kaia, a percentage of the proceeds go to the Dian Fossey Gorilla fund, a registered charity that ensures the preservation of Gorillas in their natural habit in central africa; whose population over the years has been decimated by poachers and destruction of the rainforests by civilisation (the film Gorillas in the Mist is a film that documents the exploits of Dian Fossey, who died during her mission to protect the gorillas). During his lifetime Taihg often donated to or promoted the Dian Fossey fund.

Taihg was a fan of apes and monkeys, as his father Keith and uncle Simon work with animal, and grew up in the presence of many animals including gorillas and various other apes, and even tigers, from which he got his nickname.

However what he was most renowned for was his music, and as a busker - much of his working life was spent on street corners or squares, singing cover songs of his favourite bands (including Ben Harper and Pearl jam) but also well known pop and rock songs that many people; locals, friends, travellers and tourists alike loved to listen to; and he received much acclaim for his unique roar-like voice.

As well as being a talented cover artist; he wrote several tunes of his own, or in collaboration with others; however unfortunately rarely recorded them; and although there are a few recordings of his own songs, there are barely enough quality ones to make a full album (the only one released before those on this album was Guiding Stars, available as a single on Itunes).

Not long after he died, fellow buskers and friends of his, Vince Herron and Jules Madjar came up with the idea to create a buskers compilation album in memory of him; which came to have the title One Love, One Heart, One Soul, named after the first few lyrics of his song Guiding Stars.

Though predominantly acoustic songs by buskers, various other tracks found their way on the album; all written about, inspired by, or featuring Taihg; of styles ranging from rock/metal to hip-hop.
